Milan, May 13 (LaPresse) – Sampdoria has been relegated to Serie C for the first time in its history. The Genoa-based team, which boasts the 1990–91 Scudetto among its honors, drew 0–0 against Juve Stabia in the rescheduled match of the 34th round. They needed a win to stay in Serie B. Alongside Sampdoria, Cosenza and Cittadella are also directly relegated to Serie C. Mantova and Brescia managed to avoid relegation at the last moment, while Frosinone and Salernitana will compete in the playouts.
