Milan, 15 May (LaPresse) – At 46, the great boxer Manny Pacquiao is ready to return to the ring next July when he will face Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight crown. Pacquiao's team announced the agreement a few hours after the champion's defeat in the race for another seat in the Philippine Senate. ‘His return is in line with his planned induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in June,’ the statement said. It is unclear whether the bout, to be held in Las Vegas, is a one-off event or whether 46-year-old Pacquiao is truly coming out of a four-year retirement to devote himself to boxing full-time. A press conference is expected in the coming days from Pacquiao, who has vowed to continue serving his country despite his defeat in this week's midterm elections.
