Rome, May 28 (LaPresse) – A great comeback by Isaac Del Toro on the Mortirolo and in the final kilometer in Bormio during Stage 17 of the Giro d’Italia. The Mexican rider won the stage with a 10-second lead over the chasers and retains the pink jersey.
Racing for UAE Team Emirates, Del Toro launched a powerful attack in the last two kilometers after catching up with Carapaz and the breakaway rider Bardet, eventually dropping both in the final stretch.
With this performance, Del Toro strengthens his lead in the general classification ahead of the decisive final stages.
