Rome, 10 June (LaPresse) – ‘I just want to focus on Roma.’ Claudio Ranieri wrote this in a message to Corriere dello Sport editor Ivan Zazzaroni, which the newspaper published on its website, explaining his decision to turn down the role of national team coach. ‘I have decided to step down,’ Ranieri said. ‘The Friedkins had given me the freedom to choose, but I promised to quit. If I had continued, we would not have signed Gasperini. I just want to focus on Roma.’
