Milan, 15 June (LaPresse) – An unstoppable Tadej Pogacar also won the Critérium du Dauphiné, sending a strong message to his rivals ahead of the Tour de France. In the eighth and final stage of the French race, the 133.3 km Val-d'Arc-Plateau du Mont-Cenis mountain stage, victory went to Frenchman Lenny Martinez of Team Bahrain Victorious, who finished 0.34" ahead of the duo formed by Denmark's Jonas Vingegaard of Team Visma and Pogacar himself of UAE Team Emirates. American Matteo Jorgensen of Team Visma and Belgian Remco Evenepoel of Soudal Quick-Step finished +0.40‘ behind. In the final standings, Slovenian Pogacar finished +0.59’ ahead of Vingegaard, 2'38‘ ahead of German Florian Lipowitz of Bora and 4'21’ ahead of Evenepoel.
