Milan, June 19 (LaPresse) – Hernan Crespo is once again the head coach of São Paulo. The Brazilian club announced the news in a statement, explaining that “after the departure of Luis Zubeldía, São Paulo has agreed to appoint the Argentine, who returns nearly four years later with a contract valid until December 31, 2026. Alongside the 49-year-old coach, assistant coach Juan Branda and goalkeeping coach Gustavo Nepote will also return. The technical staff will also include assistant coach Víctor López and fitness coaches Federico Martinetti and Leandro Paz.”

“The bond that was established between Crespo and São Paulo during his first stint laid solid foundations of mutual respect and admiration. He is a great professional who already knows the club, has won a title here, and now is the right time for him to return. We are pleased to make this comeback a reality,” said president Julio Casares.

In 2021, Crespo joined São Paulo for his first tenure after leading Defensa y Justicia in Argentina to an undefeated title win in the 2020 CONMEBOL South American Championship. With Tricolor, he won the Paulista Championship that season, beating Palmeiras in the final.
