Milan, June 20 (LaPresse) – Maverick Viñales set the fastest time in the pre-qualifying session for the Italian Grand Prix at the Mugello circuit, part of the MotoGP World Championship.

The Spanish rider, aboard his KTM, clocked a time of 1'44.634, ahead of the two factory Ducatis of Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez, who were +0.110 and +0.146 seconds behind, respectively.

Alex Marquez, riding a Gresini Ducati, recorded the fourth-best time, +0.153 off the pace, followed by Fabio Quartararo on Yamaha in fifth at +0.311.

Also advancing directly to Q2 are Marco Bezzecchi on Aprilia and the two VR46 Ducati riders, Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio.
