Rome, June 21 (LaPresse) – "Returning to this club is a great source of pride for me; I have experienced significant moments of my career here at Roma," said Frederic Massara, the new sporting director of Roma, on the club's official channels. "Beyond the sentiment I have carried for these years, I am eager to embrace the sporting challenge that awaits all of us."
He added that the Friedkin family is "very determined and passionate about bringing joy to Roma fans and winning trophies. We must work hard to ensure we meet these ambitions."
Massara will also reunite with Claudio Ranieri at Trigoria: "It is a great pleasure to find him again, even if in a different role," he explained. "He will be very important for me because he represents a bridge to a quicker return to the Roma reality."
He spoke about Gian Piero Gasperini’s "demanding spirit," noting that "he has had extraordinary results, and we are convinced he will bring a very clear identity to our team."
Finally, on the transfer market, Massara said: "We are aware of the financial fair play constraints. We will work to make things sustainable but still functional for the growth of the team. We are looking for strong players, and the goal is to build a strong team and develop it over the years."
