Milan, 6 July (LaPresse) – In the last quarter-final of the Club World Cup, currently underway in the United States, Real Madrid beat Borussia Dortmund 3-2. The match was decided by Gonzalo Garcia, with a goal in the 10th minute from a cross by Arda Guler from the left, and then Fran Garcia in the 20th minute from a low, slightly backward cross by Alexander-Arnold. Borussia tried to get back into the game in the 93rd minute with Beier beating Courtois with a right-footed shot across goal, but Real sealed the win a minute later with a half-volley from Mbappé. In the final moments, in the 96th minute, Huijsen brought down Guirassy in the box and was sent off. Borussia were awarded a penalty, which Guirassy converted to make it 2-3.
