Rome, July 10 (LaPresse) – Iga Swiatek has reached her first Wimbledon final, advancing to the championship match of the season’s third Grand Slam. Playing on the grass courts of London’s All England Club, the Polish world No. 4 defeated Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic, ranked 35th, with a commanding 6-2, 6-0 win in just 71 minutes. Swiatek, a four-time French Open champion and winner of the US Open, will face American Amanda Anisimova, who earlier upset world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka to reach her first Major final.
