Milan, July 16 (LaPresse) – MotoGP returns to Brno after four years away from the calendar, and the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is ready to face the Czech circuit’s curves for the first time in the top class with Fabio Di Giannantonio. Franco Morbidelli will not participate in the Czech Republic GP to recover from a left shoulder injury sustained in the Sprint race at Sachsenring.
After a final medical check on Monday in Italy and an intense rehabilitation and physiotherapy plan over the past 48 hours, the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team and Franco Morbidelli have decided that #21 will skip the twelfth GP of the year to focus on recovering his left shoulder. Still experiencing pain in the injured area, Franky will be present at the circuit to work with the team in the garage and off-track while continuing his physiotherapy.
“After two days of medical visits, physiotherapy sessions, and rest, we decided together with the team to miss this GP at Brno. It’s always difficult to make a decision like this,” said Morbidelli. “But after a significant crash like the one at Sachsenring and at this moment of the championship before the summer break, it doesn’t make sense to take the risk because the pain in my left shoulder is still persistent. Obviously, this is not an easy time, but I have received a lot of support from the whole team, the VR46 Riders Academy, and all the fans who I can’t wait to see me recovered. This weekend I will be at Brno because I want to keep working with my staff and because the team is giving me the chance to continue my physiotherapy program at the circuit to return to racing in Austria as recovered as possible.”
