Rome, July 16 (LaPresse) – Olympic bronze, European silver, and now World silver: Ginevra Taddeucci continues her competitive rise, securing second place in the Olympic-distance open water race in Sentosa. It's Italy’s first individual women’s medal at the World Championships in six years, and the first silver since Martina Grimaldi’s in 2011. The 28-year-old from Florence, trained by Giovanni Pistelli, completed the race in 2:07:55.7, narrowly behind the dominant Australian Moesha Johnson—who also beat her in Paris—and who won her first individual world gold in 2:07:51.3. Historic bronze for Monaco’s Lisa Pou, who matched Taddeucci’s time to finish third.
