Singapore, July 20 (LaPresse) – Silver medal for Italy in the mixed 4×1500 relay at the World Swimming Championships in Singapore. The Italian team — Barbara Pozzobon, Ginevra Taddeucci, Marcello Guidi, and Gregorio Paltrinieri — finished in 1h 09'15"4, just 2.1 seconds behind the gold medal-winning German quartet of Celine Rieder, Oliver Klemet, Isabelle Gose, and Florian Wellbrock. Hungary took the bronze medal.

Italy has always reached the podium in this event since it was introduced in 2017, including a gold last year in Fukuoka. This marks the sixth team silver for Italy in Sentosa. Gregorio Paltrinieri ends his World Championship campaign with three silver medals, in a competition affected by a finger injury and extreme conditions.

This is Paltrinieri's 19th World Championship medal in eight editions. Ginevra Taddeucci finishes with four silvers in four races, making her the most decorated athlete of the event.
