Milan, July 25 (LaPresse) – The usual McLaren dominance in the first practice session of the Belgian Grand Prix, the 13th round of the F1 World Championship. Australian Oscar Piastri set the fastest time with a track record of 1’42”022, leaving all others far behind, starting with Max Verstappen in the Red Bull at +0.404. Third was Lando Norris in the other McLaren at +0.504, followed by George Russell in the Mercedes at +0.576. Ferrari was distant, with Charles Leclerc fifth but +0.906, while Lewis Hamilton was seventh at +1.063. Between the two Ferraris was Kimi Antonelli, sixth with the other Mercedes, at +0.957. Closing out the top ten were the two Aston Martins of Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso, and the Racing Bull of Isack Hadjar.
Qualifying for tomorrow’s sprint race is scheduled for 4:30 PM today.
