Milan, 31 July (LaPresse) – Bayern Munich striker Jamal Musiala is still using crutches after fracturing his leg during the Club World Cup, but Bayern Munich hopes to have him back by the end of the year. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder was stretchered off in pain after a collision with Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma during this month's 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals. ‘Jamal is still on crutches, but the path is very, very positive,’ Bayern's sporting director Max Eberl said on Thursday during the presentation of new signing Luis Díaz. Eberl added that the club expects Musiala to return at around the same time as full-back Alphonso Davies. The Canadian has been out since March when he suffered a serious knee ligament injury while playing for his country, but Eberl said he had completed his ‘first exercises on the pitch’ on Thursday. ‘So far, there have been no complications with either of them. We have to keep our fingers crossed that things continue like this and then, of course, we hope they will be available at the end of the year,’ Eberl said.
