Turin, August 6 (LaPresse) – After two seasons with Juventus, Timothy Weah says goodbye to the club. The 25-year-old American has officially joined Olympique de Marseille on a loan deal with an obligation to buy. Starting from the 2025/2026 season, Weah will return to playing in Ligue 1.

“Arriving in Turin in the summer of 2023, Timothy wore the Juventus jersey for two years, appearing 78 times – nearly 40 as a starter – for a total of over 3,500 minutes,” the Piedmont club said in a statement. “He scored seven goals, six of which came in this last season, his best in terms of numbers: Weah was involved in 10 goals – 6 scored and 4 assists – across all competitions.”

Weah leaves Turin for €1 million as part of an agreement that “provides Marseille with the obligation to acquire the sporting rights of the player outright upon the occurrence of certain conditions during the 2025/2026 season. The agreed fee for the permanent transfer is €14.4 million, payable in four installments,” Juventus concluded.

“This fee may increase by up to €4.1 million during the duration of the player’s contract, upon achieving certain sporting objectives. Given the high probability of these conditions being met, for accounting purposes, this transaction is treated as a permanent transfer in the current fiscal year, generating a positive economic impact of about €6 million net of ancillary costs.”
