Milan, 26 August (LaPresse) – A painful defeat for Matteo Arnaldi in the first round of the US Open, currently underway in New York. The Ligurian tennis player was defeated in five sets by Argentine Francisco Cerundolo, who managed to come back from an initial two-set deficit in favour of Arnaldi, in a match that ended 3-6, 2-6, 7-5, 6-4, 6-2 for the Argentine. Cerundolo will face either Swiss Riedi or Spanish Martinez in the next round.
