Rome, 1 September (LaPresse) – In Limassol (Cyprus), Italy beats Bosnia and Herzegovina 96-79 in the third match of Group C at the European Basketball Championships. This is the second consecutive victory for the Azzurri after their win over Georgia. Simone Fontecchio was the top scorer of the match with 39 points. Darius Thompson also performed excellently, scoring 14 important points, as did Marco Spissu. With this victory, coach Gianmarco Pozzecco's team is close to qualifying. On Tuesday, the Azzurri will play Spain for second place in the group.
