Milan, September 28 (LaPresse) – Ettore Messina's Olimpia Milano kicked off the season in the best possible way by winning the Italian Supercup for the sixth time in its history. After defeating Virtus Bologna in the semifinals in overtime, the biancorossi triumphed over Germani Brescia in the final at the Assago Forum, with a clear 90-76 victory. After a balanced first half, Milano, driven by the home crowd, pulled ahead in the third quarter, even reaching an 18-point lead. Brescia tried to fight back and battled until the final period, but ultimately had to raise the white flag in the face of the home team's deeper and more complete roster. Olimpia was led to victory by Nebo's 18 points, Ellis' 12, and 11 each from LeDay and Ricci. Brescia's 14 points each from Burnell and Massinburg were not enough.
