Rome, 30 September (LaPresse) – ‘I never like to talk about individuals; you win and lose as a team, but regarding Sunday's match, I reiterate that I was more satisfied with the performance on Sunday evening than with the two victories last year, where we struggled a lot.’ This was the statement made by Napoli coach Antonio Conte at a press conference ahead of the match against Sporting Lisbon, valid for the second day of the Champions League group stage. "The performance was there, after two lapses in concentration that we need to work on, we need to get back to the things that made us the least beaten defence, but the proof was there, we dominated the game at San Siro and that's not an everyday occurrence. That said, Kevin De Bruyne is part of Napoli. When the team does well, he does well, and when the team does badly, he does badly. We know what he can give us. He is a player who needs to be supported, and we are trying to find the right balance. We go from one extreme to the other: when we win, it's fantastic, and when we make mistakes, everything is wrong. I have to find a solution, but it's the second year and it will be very complex for us because we have to play every three days and bring in new players, not just one. I'm repeating this because I believe it, not because it's an excuse. We'll have to improve along the way, involving everyone to prepare for the third year, when the situation will already be more structured," he added.
