Ningbo (China), Oct 16 (LaPresse) – Jasmine Paolini continues her quest for a spot at the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Tuscan tennis player opened her campaign with a victory at the 2025 Aux-Ningbo Open, a WTA 500 event with a prize pool of $1,064,510, held on the hard courts of the metropolis in Zhejiang province, China. The 29-year-old from Bagni di Lucca, ranked No. 8 and second seed, coming off a semifinal in Wuhan, qualified for the quarterfinals thanks to a win over Russian Veronika Kudermetova, No. 31 WTA, in two sets with a score of 6-2, 7-5. In the next round, Paolini will face Swiss Belinda Bencic, ranked No. 14 and sixth seed.
