The 29-year-old from Bagni di Lucca, ranked No. 8 and second seed, was defeated by Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina, ranked No. 9 and third seed, in the semi-finals of the “2025 Aux-Ningbo Open”, a WTA 500 tournament with a prize pool of $1,064,510, which is coming to a close on the hard courts of the metropolis in Zhejiang province, China. Rybakina won in two sets with a score of 6-3, 6-2 and will now face the winner of the Russian derby between Diana Shnaider, ranked 19th and seeded 7th, and Ekaterina Alexandrova, ranked 10th in the WTA and seeded 4th, in the final.
