Milan, Nov. 16 (LaPresse) – Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi are making football history once again. With Portugal’s direct qualification, the former Juventus striker matches his long-time rival by securing his sixth participation in a World Cup. No one has ever done better. Until now, Ronaldo had appeared in five World Cups, like Gigi Buffon (one without playing), Antonio Carbajal (Mexico), Lothar Matthäus (Germany), Rafa Márquez (Mexico), Andrés Guardado (Mexico), Guillermo Ochoa (Mexico, two without playing), and Luka Modric (Croatia).
