Rome, 24 November (LaPresse) – "In October, the Italian Basketball Federation (FIP) received a report from the Independent Commission for the Verification of the Economic and Financial Balance of Professional Football and Basketball Clubs (which replaced ComTeC this season) regarding the position of the Trapani Shark club. It was found that Trapani Shark 'failed to pay the fourth instalment due by August 2025 relating to the minutes of the hearing with the Revenue Agency – Provincial Directorate of Trapani – on 29 May 2025 for a total amount of approximately €120,969.37', for which the Licensing Manual provides for a penalty of one point in the standings in the current sporting year, which the Federal Council has approved'. This was announced by the FIP after the Federal Council meeting held at the “Giulio Onesti” Olympic Training Centre and chaired by Gianni Petrucci. The Commission also reported that the Club had produced a statement affirming that it was in compliance with the payment deadlines set out in the “contradictory report” signed with the Revenue Agency. With regard to this statement, the documents were forwarded to the Federal Prosecutor's Office for further investigation. The Prosecutor's Office has also opened another file regarding Trapani Shark's registration for the 2025-26 Serie A championship."
