Leeds (United Kingdom), 7 December (LaPresse/AP) – The Salah controversy erupts at Liverpool, reigning English champions but coming off a worrying start to the season with six defeats in their first 15 Premier League matches and currently eighth in the table. Last night, Mohamed Salah remained on the bench for the entire match played by the Reds in Leeds, which ended 3-3. ‘I am very disappointed,’ said the 33-year-old Egyptian after the match. "I have done so much for this club over the years, especially last season. Now I am on the bench and I don't know why. I feel like the club has thrown me under the bus. I think it's very clear that someone wants to put all the blame on me.‘ With manager Arne Slot, ’we no longer have a relationship,‘ Salah added. ’I received many promises in the summer, and so far I've been on the bench for three games, so I can't say that the promises have been kept. I don't know why, but it seems to me that someone doesn't want me at the club." Salah joined Liverpool in 2017 after three seasons in Italy with Fiorentina and Roma. With the Reds, he has won two Premier League titles and one Champions League. Last April, he signed a two-year contract extension, shortly before receiving his second Premier League Player of the Season award.
