Milan, Dec. 9 (LaPresse) – “I’m still in a phase of reflection, I’m not putting pressure on myself. Too many things have happened that made me lose the spark. I struggle to keep it alive.” This is what Marcell Jacobs said in an interview with La Stampa about his future on the track, which remains entirely undecided. “I feel fine, but I’m missing the first step: the desire to go out on the field to train, which then brings everything else with it. I’ve kept myself in shape, my body needs movement, and I’m not the type to flop on the couch,” he added. “But I don’t feel the call of the track, and that worries me. If I move forward, it’s not just to win the Europeans: it’s to push all the way to Los Angeles 2028, but without enthusiasm it’s pointless,” he revealed. Meanwhile, his relationship with the Federation is at an all-time low. “I’m no longer among the top athletes, I’ve noticed. They presented me with new parameters after Paris. I respect them, then I find out that for others, under the same conditions, it went differently: I feel mocked,” Jacobs said.
