Rome, 16 December (LaPresse) – Police have arrested five Genoa fans for Sunday's clashes outside the Luigi Ferraris stadium before the Genoa-Inter match. The police made the arrests after reviewing CCTV and television footage. According to the Digos (Special Operations Division), a group of Genoa fans, starting from the Montaldo steps, tried to attack Inter fans and threw firecrackers, paper bombs and smoke bombs. The deployment of riot police prevented contact between the two sets of fans. Among the Genoa supporters were also some Napoli fans. During the clashes, 15 people were injured, a scooter, a car and a van were set on fire, and several cars were damaged.
