Rome, Dec. 29 (LaPresse) – Roma beat Genoa 3-1 in the late match of the 17th round of the Serie A championship. Three points that allow Gasperini’s Giallorossi to reclaim fourth place with 33 points, ahead of Juve on 32. It is instead a third straight defeat for Genoa, coached by former Roma great De Rossi, who slip to fourth from bottom in the standings, deep in the relegation zone. At the Olimpico, a touching welcome for De Rossi, with chants and banners from the fans, then on the pitch Roma secure the win with goals from Matias Soulè, Manu Konè and Evan Ferguson. Jeff Ekhator’s goal at the end of the match is not enough for Genoa. In the next round Roma will visit Atalanta; for Gasperini it will be his first return as a former coach to Bergamo.
