Rome, Dec. 31 (LaPresse) – Alessandro Michieletto, who starred for the national team in 2025, helping secure the volleyball World Championship in the Philippines, has been voted best men’s player of 2025. He was placed at the top of the ranking by the social media team of VolleyballWorld, an outlet created some time ago through a partnership between the FIVB, the international volleyball federation, and CVC Capital Partners. The Trento outside hitter finished ahead of another outside hitter, Bulgaria’s Aleksandar Nikolov, who plays for Civitanova. In third place is Simone Giannelli, captain of the national team. Behind the Perugia setter are Polish middle blocker Jakub Kochanowski, Polish outside hitter Wilfredo Leon and Bulgarian setter Simeon Nikolov. Also in the top 10 is another Italian, libero Fabio Balaso, seventh ahead of Bulgarian middle blocker Aleks Grozdanov, Slovenia’s Jan Kozamernik and Czech player Patrick Indra.
