Turin, Jan. 5 (LaPresse) – Novak Djokovic announced on Instagram that he will not be competing in the ATP 250 tournament in Adelaide scheduled for Jan. 12-17, the week before the Australian Open. “Unfortunately, I am not yet physically ready to compete,” wrote the Serbian tennis player who won the title in 2023. "It is a great disappointment for me because I have wonderful memories of winning the title two years ago. I was really excited to return because playing in Adelaide has always made me feel at home.“ Djokovic will return to the court for the first time this season at the Australian Open, starting January 18. ”Now my focus is on preparing for the Australian Open,“ he concluded in his social media message. ”I can't wait to get to Melbourne and see all the Australian tennis fans again."
