Milan, 9 February (LaPresse) – On the track at the Cortina Sliding Centre, the Italian luge team sends a strong signal ahead of the doubles medals at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics. In the third timed run, the pair formed by Emanuel Rieder and Simon Kainzwaldner set the fastest time overall in 52.634, confirming their excellent rapport with the track named after Eugenio Monti. The excellent collective performance was completed by Ivan Nagler and Fabian Malleier in third place, just 35 thousandths of a second behind their teammates. The two Italian crews were sandwiched by the American pair Zachary Di Gregorio and Sean Hollander, while multiple German champions Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt finished in fourth place.
