Cortina d'Ampezzo (Belluno), 9 February (LaPresse) – ‘There is regret, we weren't smart enough on some occasions and unfortunately, in the end, it cost us the game.’ These were the words of Amos Mosaner speaking in the mixed zone after the Italian mixed doubles curling team's defeat in the semi-finals against the USA in the Olympic tournament in Milan Cortina. ‘I'm emotional, I'm sincere, when you're there, one step away, and you see the game slipping away, an Olympic final, I feel a little bad. But it's part of the sport, everyone reacts differently,’ he added about his own reaction. ‘It's just a matter of hours to digest this defeat, calm down for a moment and start again tomorrow. We will fight with all our heart and strength.’ Speaking about the support in the stands, ‘it was extraordinary at all times, both when we were ahead and when we were behind. We lacked that extra bit of cunning to bring it home,’ he concluded. ‘What didn't work? A few details in particular, where we could have defended a little better, been a little smarter, given two points instead of three and one when they scored two.’ Federica Brignone was also in the stands for the semi-final. ‘It's always nice to see your teammates supporting you, it's always good, it's a great pleasure. She's a cheerful girl, very nice, we shared the opening ceremony, now she too will have to fight for her races,’ she concluded. ‘Future with Constantini even after the Games? I don't know, in the meantime let's think about tomorrow, when there's a nice medal to play for.’
