Milan, 12 February (LaPresse) – All three Italian athletes were immediately eliminated in the quarter-finals of the 1000 metres at the Individual Games in Milan Cortina. Pietro Sighel won his heat but was disqualified after a lengthy review for contact with an opponent during the race. Thomas Nadalini was also eliminated. He was on course to qualify in the first heat when he fell on the last lap after contact with an opponent. The Italian finished fourth in his heat in 1'34‘487. Luca Spechenhauser suffered the same fate, finishing third in his heat with a time of 1'25’260.
