Bormio (Sondrio), 16 February (LaPresse) – Alex Vinatzer's slalom at the Milan-Cortina Games ends after just a few gates. On the Bormio slope, the Italian starts behind on his tips and immediately makes a mistake, managing to stay on his feet but then straddling a gate a third of the way down the course. Currently in the lead, after the first 20 athletes have completed their runs, is Norway's Atle Lie McGrath, ahead of Switzerland's Loic Meillard by 59 hundredths of a second and Austria's Fabio Gstrein by 94 hundredths of a second. The Olympic giant slalom champion, Brazil's Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, also exited the race after falling halfway down the course.
