Rome, 4 March (LaPresse) – ‘I don't care whether Iran is there or not.’ President Donald Trump made this statement in an interview with Politico, referring to the participation of the Asian national team that has qualified for the upcoming World Cup to be held in the US, Canada and Mexico. "I think Iran is a severely defeated country. They're going downhill," he added. Iran is currently scheduled to play New Zealand in Los Angeles on 15 June, Belgium in Los Angeles on 21 June and Egypt in Seattle on 26 June. If both the United States and Iran finish second in their respective groups, the two nations could face each other in a knockout match on 3 July in Dallas.
