Shanghai, Mar. 15 (LaPresse) – "I can't speak, I'm about to cry. I said I wanted to bring victory back to Italy and today we did it. Even if there was a scare at the end." An emotional Kimi Antonelli shared his feelings at the end of the Chinese GP in which he secured the first win of his career. "The championship? Let's think race by race…", the Italian added in the immediate post-race interview, unable to hold back his tears. "I dreamed there would be a chance to win and fortunately it came true. I'm over the moon, I'm so happy. This victory feels great," Antonelli later told Sky. "Today I felt good, I was calm and stayed composed in every situation. Compared to Ferrari we struggled to warm up the tyres, but I felt I had the situation under control. I dedicate it to my family, to the team and to everyone following me from home," he added emotionally. Asked what worked well today, Antonelli explained: "All the previous starts had been terrible, while today it went better. Then the race pace was really good. At the end I relaxed too much and made a mistake I must not make again." "I have achieved one of my big goals and this gives me great confidence. Now I will be more relaxed and aware, but beating George Russell and the others will not be easy. Today went well, but we are only at the beginning and we must keep going like this," he concluded.
