Milan, 31 March (LaPresse) – Tottenham have officially announced on their social media channels the appointment of Roberto De Zerbi as manager on a “long-term contract”. “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Roberto De Zerbi as the new manager of the men’s team, on a long-term contract, subject to the granting of a work permit,” reads Tottenham’s statement. “I am thrilled to be joining this fantastic club, one of the biggest and most prestigious in the world. In all my discussions with the club’s management, their ambition for the future has been clear: to build a team capable of achieving great things, and to do so by playing football that excites and inspires our fans. I am here because I believe in this ambition and I have signed a long-term contract to give my all and help make it a reality. Our short-term priority is to climb the Premier League table, a goal on which we will focus entirely until the final whistle of the last match of the season. I can’t wait to get back on the pitch for training and work with the players to achieve this goal,” were De Zerbi’s first words. For the Brescia-born manager, this is his second spell in the Premier League following his time at Brighton & Hove Albion, where he guided the side to their highest-ever league finish in his debut season, securing qualification for European competition for the first time in the club’s history. In his most recent role at Marseille, the Ligue 1 side finished the 2024/25 season in second place, securing a place in the Champions League.
