Milan, 9 April (LaPresse) – Like Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz also struggled more than expected to reach the quarter-finals of the “Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters”, the third “1000” tournament of the season, with a prize fund of €6,309,095, currently being played on the clay courts of the Monte-Carlo Country Club in the Principality of Monaco. The Spaniard, world number one and top seed as well as the defending champion, only managed to defeat Argentina’s Tomas Martin Etcheverry, ranked 30th in the ATP rankings, in the third set, with a score of 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 in two hours and 23 minutes. In the quarter-finals, Alcaraz will face Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik, the number 8 seed, who defeated the Czech Jiri Lehecka (No. 11) 6-2, 7-5.e set, sur le score de 6-1, 4-6, 6-3, en deux heures et 23 minutes.
