Turin, 22 May (LaPresse) – ‘A farewell? I hope it’s just a goodbye for now.’ So said Real Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa at a press conference on the eve of the season’s final match against Athletic Bilbao, confirming his departure from the Bernabéu. ‘I’ve always considered Madrid my home; I’ve been at Real for 20 years. This is my last match of the season; I don’t know if it will also be my last as Real’s coach – you never know. I’ll try to enjoy it; I’m focused on winning,’ he continued. "I want to see a great match, say goodbye to the fans and give them a win. My future? Mourinho has a fantastic coaching staff; he’s surrounded by highly talented people. If he comes, he’ll do so with his own staff, as is only right. There’s no chance of me staying with him. I’ve spent four months thinking about Real Madrid; now it’s time to think about myself. I’ve taken the plunge and I feel ready for new challenges.”
