Cairo (Egypt), Jan 18 (LaPresse/AP) – Egypt's foreign minister, Badr Abdelatty, said the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt will come into operation ‘soon’ as authorities prepare for a wave of humanitarian aid to Gaza under the ceasefire agreement that will go into effect on Sunday. Abdelatty did not specify when exactly the crossing will be open. The crossing, Gaza's main gateway to the outside world, has been closed since the Israeli army took control of the area last May. Abdelatty said that during the ceasefire, 600 trucks of aid per day, including 50 trucks of fuel, are expected to enter Gaza.
