Rome, Feb. 3 (LaPresse) – "In an English-language video by Field Ethos – The global hunt for adventure, as denounced by Veneto regional councilor Andrea Zanoni of Europa Verde, scenes of a hunting expedition in the Venetian lagoon are shown. The footage was recently shot in Valle Pirimpie, Campagna Lupia, an area within the Natura 2000 Network, as it falls within the Special Conservation Zone IT 3250030 'Laguna Medio-Inferiore di Venezia.'
In the video, scenes of ducks being shot can be seen, along with the killing of a ruddy shelduck (Tadorna ferruginea), a species protected across Europe under the EU Birds Directive and Italian law (L. 157/1992), which penalizes its killing and possession.
"We are submitting a parliamentary question to Environment Minister Pichetto Fratin to clarify what happened, given that the killing of protected species is a crime. Furthermore, we seek confirmation on reports that among the participants was Donald Trump Junior, the son of the U.S. President."
