Turin, Feb. 6 (LaPresse) – King Charles and Queen Camilla will make state visits to Italy and the Vatican. This was confirmed by Buckingham Palace. The spring tour, which will celebrate “the strong bilateral relationship between Italy and the United Kingdom,” will take place in early April and coincide with the royal couple's 20th wedding anniversary. “During the state visit to the Holy See, “the King and Queen will join His Holiness Pope Francis to celebrate the Jubilee Year 2025,” the statement read. Charles and Camilla will also visit Rome and Ravenna. Charles has met with Pope Francis on several occasions. The upcoming trip will be their third meeting, the first since Charles ascended the throne. It will also be the second time Bergoglio has met a British monarch: in 2014, the pontiff had hosted Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh at the Vatican.
