Milan, 13 Feb (LaPresse) – ‘I have warned world leaders against trusting Putin's statements that he is ready to end the war’. The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, wrote this on X, reporting that he had spoken with the premier of Poland, Donald Tusk. ‘We discussed the necessary conditions for a lasting and real peace in Ukraine and agreed that no negotiations with Putin can begin without a united position of Ukraine, Europe and the United States. I informed the Prime Minister about my conversation with President Trump and we discussed the key messages and the need to coordinate the positions of all Europeans to achieve positive results for the whole of Europe,’ Zelensky reported. ‘I emphasised that Ukraine must negotiate from a position of strength, with strong and reliable security guarantees, and that NATO membership would be the most convenient for the partners. Another key guarantee is serious investment in the Ukrainian defence industry,' he added.
