Turin, February 21 (LaPresse) – Hamas has just handed over the body of Shiri Bibas to the Red Cross. This was reported by Al Jazeera, citing sources. Israeli authorities have not confirmed the news. The IDF stated that "it is examining the details." According to Channel 12, the Red Cross was instructed to go to a location to retrieve the body. Shiri Bibas is the mother of young Kfir and Ariel Bibas, whose bodies were returned by Hamas to Israeli authorities yesterday. The body thought to belong to Shiri was actually that of a woman from Gaza. An Israeli official later confirmed to the Israeli broadcaster Kan that the Red Cross received a coffin with a body from Hamas. The Israeli army (IDF) has stated that it is verifying the news that Hamas has delivered the body of Shiri Bibas. Kan reports that "if the coffin does indeed arrive, it will be transferred to the Abu Kabir forensic identification institute, and only then will it be possible to confirm whether it is the body of Shiri Bibas."
