Berlin (Germany), 23 Feb (LaPresse) – At 2pm the turnout for the federal elections in Germany was 52.0%. This is 15.5% higher than at the same time in the 2021 elections. Absentee voting is not taken into account in this calculation. In the last federal election in 2021, the turnout was 76.4%, according to the official final result. In 2021, many voters voted by mail because of the coronavirus pandemic. The current turnout is also higher than in the 2017 federal elections. Back then, reports Bild, it had been 41 per cent at 2pm.
