Milan, Mar 1 (LaPresse) – ‘I think that beyond irritation, everyone needs to return to calm, respect and recognition, so that we can make concrete progress, because there is too much at stake’. This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron in an interview with La Tribune Dimanche in the aftermath of the clash between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office of the White House. Macron also said he was convinced that ‘the clear destiny of the Americans is to be on the side of the Ukrainians, of this I have no doubt. What the US has done in the last three years is entirely in line with its diplomatic and military tradition'. ‘I want the Americans to understand that disengagement from Ukraine is not in their interest,’ he said.
