Milan, 3 Mar. (LaPresse) – Hamas is ‘committed’ to the ceasefire agreement, which it has adhered to in a ‘precise and timely’ manner despite Israeli violations, and wants to proceed to the second phase, while Israel is pushing to ‘bring the situation back to square one’, with alternative proposals such as extending the first phase, which does not adhere to what was agreed. This is the accusation made by a senior Hamas official, Osama Hamdan, in a televised statement reported by Al-Jazeera. ‘We condemn the cheap blackmail that Netanyahu and his extremist government are committing against our people, using humanitarian aid as a pressure card in negotiations,’ Hamdan added, ’We call on the international community to pressure Israel to open the crossings and allow life-saving humanitarian aid into Gaza.’
