Washington (USA), 4 Mar (LaPresse) – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has intervened on the ground in Texas, where a measles epidemic is underway. The CoC itself announced this on X, reporting that it is collaborating with the state health department. Previously, the CoC had provided Texas with laboratory support and measles-mumps-rubella (Mmr) vaccines to help local health authorities deal with the outbreak. In an update released today, Texas reported 159 cases of measles, with 22 people hospitalised. Most of the cases occur in Gaines County, which is home to a large unvaccinated Mennonite population.
