Turin, Mar 24 (LaPresse) – Israel has not yet made a decision on the possible imposition of a military government in Gaza. This was stated by Foreign Minister Gideon Saar. ‘It has not yet been decided by our government,’ he said in response to a question from the Times of Israel during a press conference in Jerusalem. Flanked by EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, Saar insisted that Israel is complying with international law in Gaza, referring to Article 70 of the Additional Protocol to the 1949 Geneva Conventions. According to the minister, the 25,000 trucks Israel brought in during the truce with Hamas are sufficient for the needs of the Gaza population. ‘No country is obliged to facilitate a war against itself,’ he explained. ‘Israel should not be judged by a different yardstick.’
