Washington (USA), 25 March (LaPresse) – Donald Trump continues to have the ‘utmost confidence’ in National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, after the botched confidential chat on Signal in which journalist Jeffrey Goldberg, editor of The Atlantic, was also mistakenly included. In the chat, various senior administration officials, including Vice President JD Vance, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and Waltz himself were discussing the impending US attack plans against the Houthi rebels in Yemen. It was Waltz himself who entered the journalist's name into the chat, according to reconstructions. ‘As President Trump has said, the attacks against the Houthis have been highly effective and successful. President Trump continues to have the utmost confidence in his national security team, including National Security Advisor Mike Waltz,’ White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said in a statement to CNN. Earlier, responding to a reporter's question, Trump had said he ‘knew nothing’ about the affair.
